Sandfeld was a location in the west of the Bergisch city ​​of Wuppertal , district of Vohwinkel . With the spread of limestone mining in the Dornap area , the place fell into desolation.

The location was at an altitude of 176  m above sea level. NN north-west of Holthausen in today's residential area Schöller-Dornap in the Vohwinkel district . Neighboring locations were Neu-Dornap , Ladebühne , Holthauser Heide and Holthausen .

In the 19th century, Sandfeld was a residential area in the rural community of Schöller of the Haan mayor (from 1894 Gruiten mayor ), which emerged from the Bergisch rule Schöller . In the municipality lexicon for the Rhineland province from 1888, a house with five residents is given.

Next to the sand field, dolomitized mass limestone was mined in a pit until the middle of the 20th century . Subsequently, the spoil heaps and a sludge pond of the Dornap plant of the Rheinkalk company expanded to the outskirts, to which Sandfeld ultimately had to give way in the 1960s.

Sandfeld is recorded for the first time on the measuring table sheet from 1892, the last time on the one from 1953. On the measuring table sheet from 1963, sand field fell in desolation.

The street Am Sandfeld , which leads from the street Holthauser Heide to Neu-Dornap / Ladebühner Straße , was named on February 28, 1956.
