Holthauser Heide is a district in the Vohwinkel district of the Bergisch city of Wuppertal in North Rhine-Westphalia / Germany .
Location and description
The district is located in the residential area of Schöller-Dornap north of the Vohwinkler center and the forest area Osterholz . Neighboring places are the immediately adjacent Bellenbusch , Kahlenbusch and Am Steinberg as well as the places Holthausen and Ladebühne . Schleheck , Wald and Kalkofen are gone . The place can be reached via a small residential street from the direction of Hahnenfurth , Dornap or Vohwinkel.
North of Holthauser Heide runs a disused section of the Düsseldorf-Derendorf-Dortmund Süd railway line , the so-called “Wuppertaler Nordbahn” of the Rheinische Eisenbahn-Gesellschaft . In the Middle Ages the Hof (Holthauser) Heide belonged to the Gerresheim monastery . He belonged to the Schöller Honschaft within the Bergische Unterherrschaft Schöller. The place is listed as Heid together with the immediately neighboring Bellenbusch and Kahlenbusch as a Bergische Hofschaft on the Topographia Ducatus Montani of Erich Philipp Ploennies from 1715, also on the topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1824.
In the 19th century, Holthauser Heide was a residential area in the rural community of Schöller of the Haan mayor (from 1894 Gruiten mayor ), which emerged from the Bergisch rule Schöller . In 1888, according to the community encyclopedia for the Rhineland province , the place had six houses with 40 inhabitants. The place is called Holthauserheide at that time .
From 1929 to the municipal reform of 1975, the city boundary between Wuppertal and the then independent municipality of Schöller ran between Holthauser Heide and neighboring Bellenbusch . In 1975 the community of Schöller and Wülfrather Dornap and their suburbs were split off from the Gruiten office and incorporated into the Schöller-Dornap residential area in Wuppertal. Holthauser Heide von Schöller also came to Wuppertal.
From the second half of the 20th century, Holthauser Heide increasingly merged with the neighboring triple settlement Am Steinberg / Bellenbusch / Kahlenbusch, thus forming a closed settlement through which the district boundary between Schöller-Dornap and Osterholz still runs.
