Location of Schleheck in Wuppertal

Schleheck was a location in the west of the Bergisch city ​​of Wuppertal in the district of Vohwinkel . With the expansion of the Osterholz pit , the place fell into desolation.

Location and description

The location was at an altitude of 180  m above sea level. NN west of Holthausen in today's residential area Schöller-Dornap in the Vohwinkel district . Neighboring locations were Buntenbeck , Habbach , Holthausen , In der Furth , Kalkofen , Wald and Schöller .

Schleheck is recorded as Schleehek on the topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1824 .

In 1832, Wald belonged to the Schöller community in the Haan mayor's office (from 1894 in the Gruiten mayor's office ) in the Elberfeld district . According to the statistics and topography of the Düsseldorf administrative district , the place categorized as a house was designated as Schleheck and at that time had two residential houses and an agricultural building. At that time there were 20 people living in the village, six of them Catholic and 14 Protestant.

The place is no longer recorded on maps from 1907 and fell desolate. In the 1930s, the site was acquired by Kalkwerke H. Oetelshofen GmbH and the Osterholz pit expanded at this location.
