Buntenbeck is a court in the Wuppertal district of Vohwinkel , residential area Schöller-Dornap .

Location and description

Buntenbeck is located in the north of Vohwinkel in the middle of Schöller-Dornap, immediately east of Hanielsfeld . Neighboring places are Dornap , Nösenberg , Broscheidt , Grünewald , Wieden , Neu-Dornap , Ladebühne and Holthauser Heide . Disposed of, Fliethe .

The place is west of the federal highway 224 , which bears the street name Bahnstraße here .

Etymology and history

The court is recorded as Bondenbec on the Topographia Ducatus Montani by Erich Philipp Ploennies from 1715. In the 19th century Colorful Beck was a residential place in the rural community of Schoeller of the mayoralty Haan (1894 mayoralty Gruiten ) from Honschaft Schoeller of Bergisch rule Schoeller emerged. On the topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1824 the place is labeled with Buntenbek and on the Prussian first survey from 1843 with Buntenbeck .

In 1815 130 people lived around Buntenbeck. According to the statistics and topography of the Düsseldorf administrative district , the local area was categorized as houses and courtyards . At that time, the area around Buntenbeck owned 15 houses and eleven agricultural buildings. 172 inhabitants lived in the village, 44 of them Catholic and 128 Protestant. In 1888, according to the municipality lexicon for the Rhineland province , the place had eight houses with 82 inhabitants. The place is called Groß Drinhausen at this time .

During the municipal reform of 1929, a small strip with Buntenbeck on the eastern edge was split off from the rural community of Schöller and assigned to the newly founded city of Wuppertal.

Today's street

A Buntenbeck spur road going off Bahnstrasse was named between 1928 and 1931.
