Etymology and history

Neu-Dornap is the successor to the Dornap farm, whose original settlement was lost when the Hahnenfurth pit limestone quarry was built .

In the 19th century, Neu-Dornap was a residential area in the rural community of Schöller, owned by the Haan mayor (from 1894 Gruiten mayor ), which emerged from the Bergish rule of Schöller . In 1888, according to the municipality lexicon for the Rhineland province , the place had three houses with 35 residents. The place is called Neu Dornap at this time .

With the regional reform of 1975, the community of Schöller was split off from the Gruiten office in the Düsseldorf-Mettmann district and incorporated into Wuppertal as the Schöller-Dornap residential area. Neu-Dornap went into the Ladebühne district.
