Sandra Vilanova Tous (born January 1, 1981 in Barcelona ) is a Spanish soccer player . The midfielder took part in the 2013 European Women's Championship with the Spanish women's national team.

Athletic career

Vilanova played in her youth at UD Castellar , in 1997 she moved to Platges Calvià . In 2001 she joined the reigning champions UD Levante , with whom she won the championship twice and the Copa de la Reina four times in the following eight years . In 2009 she moved to Madrid for one season at Rayo Vallecano and won the championship again. This was followed by a season each at Espanyol Barcelona , where she celebrated the fifth cup win of her career, and at Atlético Madrid , before joining Espanyol for a longer period in 2012.

In 2003 Vilanova made her national team debut under national coach Ignacio Quereda and was at times team captain . With the selection team, she qualified for the European Championship finals in 2013 and was part of the team of the selection team at the final tournament, but had in the meantime lost her regular place in midfield to Nagore Calderón and Vicky Losada . When the team eliminated in the quarter-finals against Norway , they had their only final round appearance, but could not prevent the elimination.
