Sandro Cois (born June 9, 1972 in Fossano (CN) , Italy ) is a former Italian football player .

Career

In the club

Sandro Cois began his career in the youth department of Torino Calcio . In the 1990/91 season he made his Serie A debut at Toro and won the Mitropa Cup with the troupe trained by Emiliano Mondonico . In the UEFA Cup , the Turin club was only narrowly beaten by Ajax Amsterdam . 1992/93 the win of the Coppa Italia followed .

After a few strong years at Torino Calcio, the midfielder moved to Fiorentina in 1994 , where he spent most of his career and won the Coppa Italia again in 1995/96 and 2000/01.

In 2002, Sandro Cois moved to Sampdoria Genoa in Serie B , the following January he went to Piacenza Calcio , where he ended his active career in the summer of 2003 at the age of only 31 due to injury.

In the national team

Sandro Cois made his debut on January 28, 1998 in the 3-0 win against Slovakia under Cesare Maldini in the Italian national team . In the same year he was in Maldini's squad for the World Cup in France , where he was not used, but advanced to the quarter-finals with the Azzurri , where the hosts and eventual world champions France were beaten 3: 4 on penalties .

The midfielder completed the last of his three international matches for Italy on February 10, 1999 in a 0-0 win against Norway .
