Sanja Popović (born May 31, 1984 in Rijeka , Yugoslavia ) is a Croatian national volleyball player .

Volleyball career

Sanja Popović grew up in Rijeka . Her playing career began with the Croatian volleyball club Kastav, in the town of the same name Kastav . She played there for the first time in the 1998/99 season. In the 1999 season, Popović moved to Rijeka and stayed there until the 2003 season.

This was followed by a move to HAOK Mladost Zagreb , where she played from 2005 and became Croatian champion in 2006. She then moved to Italy, first to Asystel Volley Novara and later to Chieri Volley Club . After a 2009/10 season in Turkey with Beşiktaş Istanbul , she returned to Italy to Pallavolo Sirio Perugia . After a brief engagement in 2011 in South Korea at GS Caltex Seoul , she returned to Europe to VK Prostějov , with whom she became Czech champion and cup winner in 2012. Popović then played in Poland at Bank BPS Fakro Muszyna and won the CEV Cup here in 2013 . In the same year she won the Russian Cup with Dynamo Moscow .

Sanja Popović played with the Croatian national volleyball team at the 2007 European Championships in Belgium and Luxembourg .
