The Sankt-Gangolph-Kirche is the Protestant church of the village Ostingersleben in Saxony-Anhalt , which belongs to the municipality Ingersleben .

architecture

The quarry stone church was built in 1790, with the remains of a Romanesque predecessor building included. The rectangular church hall has high segment arched windows . To the west of the nave there is a church tower standing across the nave on a rectangular floor plan from the Gothic period . A semicircular apse was added to the east side of the nave in 1894 . Repairs took place in 1957 and 1988.

Interior design

The interior of the church is spanned by a flat ceiling resting on a cove . The arch to the apse is designed in the neoclassical style. In the west part of the ship there is a short horseshoe gallery . The pulpit is from the baroque era . In the church there is an octagonal baptismal font dated 1865. The stone, designed in the form of a chalice, is made in the neo-Gothic style . Two stained glass windows depicting the baptism and transfiguration of Christ are remarkable. The windows created by Heinrich Oidtmann from Linnich around 1893/94 show the coat of arms of Albrecht von Alvensleben and Martha, née von Schönborn , as the donor coat of arms . The church was also painted in 1893/94. The oldest piece of equipment is likely to be a richly decorated goblet from around 1500. A bell in the tower dates from 1513.

The furnishings of the 19th century were significantly reduced during the renovation in 1957.

The church is surrounded by a low stone wall. To the southwest of it is a monumental war memorial .
