Ostingersleben is a district of the municipality Ingersleben in the district of Börde in Saxony-Anhalt .

geography

Ostingersleben is located in the north-western part of the Magdeburg Börde . The terrain drops about 30 m towards the southwest to the nearby Allertal . Helmstedt is about twelve kilometers to the west.

history

The place is mentioned for the first time in the list of goods of the Ludgeri monastery drawn up in 1160 as "orientales Inheresleve". This historic event was duly celebrated in 2010 with the 850th anniversary during a festival week.

On January 1, 2010, the previously independent municipalities of Ostingersleben, Alleringersleben , Eimersleben and Morsleben merged to form the new municipality of Ingersleben.

memorial

The grave of an unknown Pole who was abducted to Germany during the Second World War and a victim of forced labor is located in the local cemetery .

Next to the church is the memorial to those who fell in the world wars, which was restored in 2005.

Economy and Infrastructure

In Ostingersleben, agriculture is an important branch of business, which is practiced intensively in the poorly forested area southeast of the Lappwald thanks to the very good soils. Metal construction is to be emphasized among the other commercial enterprises. The Ostingersleben volunteer fire brigade was founded in 1926.

Transport links

The federal highway 1 runs from Magdeburg to Braunschweig north of Ostingersleben . The federal motorway 2 from Berlin to Hanover passes directly south of Ostingersleben ( Alleringersleben junction 2.5 km away). There are rail connections in the neighboring towns of Marienborn and Wefensleben (Magdeburg – Braunschweig line).

Post mill Ostingersleben

The Ostingersleben post mill , built in 1791, is worth seeing as a technical monument . The Evangelical St. Gangolph Church also dates from the end of the 18th century .
