The Sankt-Johannes-Kirche is the Protestant church in the village of Lindhorst in Saxony-Anhalt .
History and exterior architecture
The church building was built in 1861 in neo-Romanesque style. The brick hall church rises on a stone plinth . To the west of the nave is a slender church tower with a square floor plan. On the east side there is a semicircular and windowless apse . A sacristy was added to the northeast of the nave when the church was being built. The church has a dwarf gallery as a facade element .
Internally
The interior of the church is spanned by an open, boarded roof truss . On the west gallery , the organ is a classicist in Rundbogenstil designed brochure. It was created in the workshop of Carl Böttcher in 1878 . The pulpit , stalls and reading stands date from the time the church was built. The hull of a baroque crucifix from the 18th century is remarkable . The arms of the cross were later renewed.
The last restoration of the church took place after the fall of the Wall in 1996/1997.
