Location of Sankt Antoniushof in Rhineland-Palatinate

Sankt Antoniushof is a district of the municipality of Abtweiler in the Bad Kreuznach district in Rhineland-Palatinate . It is also popularly called "Danteshof". In the Middle Ages there was a small village here with a chapel and a jury headed by a mayor .

The Antoniushof is one of the oldest branches in the Nahe - Glan area and was probably built shortly after the Franconian conquest of the land on the fertile soil of an extensive mountain heather.

The foundation of this settlement was based on a document from 1107 from the Disibodenberg monastery .

Among the legends that have grown up around the Antoniushof there is also a story about the robber captain Schinderhannes , who is said to have stayed here. When the gendarmes and the residents of the village lay in wait for him, he fled and lost a silver pocket watch on the way, which a man from Rehborn found. The name of Schinderhannes: " Johann Bückler " is said to have been engraved on the dial .

Even today, the Antoniushof is still characterized by its agriculture and has three farms.
