Sanna Stén

Sanna Tutteli Stén (* 20th May 1977 in Lohja ) is a former Finnish lightweight - rower .

Stén started rowing in 1999. At the World Championships in 2003 , she competed in the lightweight single and finished tenth. From 2005 she formed a lightweight double scull with Minna Nieminen , the two Finns won the World Cup regatta in Munich. At the 2005 World Championships in Gifu , the German two-man won ahead of the US boat, the Stén and Nieminen received the bronze medal. After finishing sixth at the 2006 World Championships , they finished second behind the Australians in Munich in 2007 . At the European Championships in 2007 , the Finns also received the silver medal, here the Czech double scull won.

After a sixth place and two third places in the 2008 World Cup, Stén and Nieminen won the silver medal at the Beijing Olympic Games behind Marit van Eupen and Kirsten van der Kolk from the Netherlands. In 2009 Stén and Nieminen finished ninth at the World Championships in Poznan . At the European Championships in 2009 , Sanna Stén took fourth place together with Ulla Varvio . In 2010 Stén and Nieminen rowed again in lightweight double sculls and, at the end of their joint careers, finished tenth at the world championships and eleventh place at the European championships .
