Sant'Angelo in Lizzola
Sant'Angelo in Lizzola (in the local dialect: Sant'Angële ) is a place in the municipality of Vallefoglia and was an independent municipality ( comune ) in the Italian province of Pesaro and Urbino in the Marches until 2014 . Sant'Angelo in Lizzola is about 12.5 km south west of Pesaro at an altitude of 312 mslm By fraction Montecchio flows of Foglia . The local saint is Archangel Michael .
history
Around 1000 AD the castles of Monte Sant'Angelo and Lizzola were merged. In 1389 the district of Montecchio was connected. In the 15th century the municipality fell under the rule of the Sforza from Pesaro.
The municipality of Sant'Angelo in Lizzola merged with Colbordolo on January 1, 2014 to form the new municipality of Vallefoglia . On December 31, 2013, it had 8815 inhabitants on an area of 11.8 km². The municipality bordered directly on the province of Rimini . Neighboring communities were Colbordolo, Monteciccardo , Montegridolfo (RN), Montelabbate , Pesaro and Tavullia .
