Montegridolfo is an Italian municipality with 996 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Rimini in Emilia-Romagna . The municipality is a member of the association I borghi più belli d'Italia (The Most Beautiful Places in Italy).
geography
Montegridolfo is located on a ridge on the southern border of Emilia-Romagna between the Conca rivers in the north and Foglia in the south, about 23.5 kilometers south-southeast of Rimini , 25 km west of Pesaro and 25 km north of Urbino. The ridge forms the border with the province of Pesaro and Urbino ( Marche ).

- The medieval town center with its city walls
- Church of San Rocco from the Quattrocento , originally a hospital, with pictures from the Quattro, Cinque and Seicento
- The “Museo della Linea die Goti” ( Gothic Line Museum) with rich material on the section of the front line in World War II between the German Wehrmacht and the Allies in 1944
- Santuario della Beata Vergine delle Grazie in the Trebbio district, a pilgrimage church with a miraculous image ( apparition of the Blessed Virgin ) by Pompeo Morganti (1549)
Culture
In 1987 the conductor Gustav Kuhn founded a summer academy for singers called Accademia di Montegridolfo , which he later called Accademia di Montegral and which he moved to Lucca to the Convento dell'Angelo in 2000 . The academy served Kuhn as a reservoir of young talent for soloists at the Erl Festival, which he directed until 2018 .
