geography

The municipality is located about 14 kilometers northwest of Rimini on the Adriatic Sea . Here the Uso flows into the Adriatic Sea. The municipality or places of the municipality are seaside resorts, such as Igea Marina and Cagnona.

The neighboring municipalities are Rimini and San Mauro Pascoli (FC).

history

The place Bellaria is mentioned in a document in 1359 as a place under the rule of the Malatesta family . However, the place only became an independent municipality in 1956, when the then suburb of Rimini gained its independence under the name Bellaria-Igea Marina .

Sports

The municipality was a stage of the Giro d'Italia twice , in 1960 and 1987 .
