Casteldelci is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 383 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Rimini in Emilia-Romagna .

geography

Location of Casteldelci in Valmarecchia ( Marecchia Valley )

The municipality is located about 45 kilometers southwest of Rimini , belongs to the Comunità Montana Alta Valmarecchia and borders the provinces of Arezzo ( Tuscany ) and Forlì-Cesena . Since 2009 the municipality has been part of the province of Rimini. Before that it belonged to the province of Pesaro and Urbino ( Marche ). In the southeast, the Marecchia delimits the municipality.

history

In the village of Fragheto, which today belongs to the municipality of Casteldelci, 30 people, mainly women and children, were murdered in a massacre by the Wehrmacht on April 17, 1944 .

The former Strada Statale 258 Marecchia (now a provincial road) runs along the Marecchia from Sansepolcro to Rimini.
