San Clemente is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 5653 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Rimini in Emilia-Romagna . The municipality is located about 15 kilometers southeast of Rimini .

history

The place is mentioned for the first time in 962 in a deed of donation by Otto I to the Count of Carpegna . Eventually the Malatesta family took control of the area.

Until 1992 the municipality was part of the province of Forlì .

economy

The community lives mainly from the cultivation of Sangiovese and is part of the Città del Vino association .
