Santa Ovaia is a locality and former municipality ( freguesia ) in the Portuguese district ( concelho ) of Oliveira do Hospital . On June 30, 2011 the community had 598 inhabitants on an area of 3.1 km².
As part of the local reorganization of Portugal on September 29, 2013, the municipality of Santa Ovaia was merged with Vila Pouca da Beira to form the new municipality of União das Freguesias de Santa Ovaia e Vila Pouca da Beira . Santa Ovaia became the seat of the new community.
