Santhosh Kumar Tamilarasan (born January 1, 1998 in Sakkudi , Tamil Nadu ) is an Indian athlete who specializes in the 400-meter hurdles .

Athletic career

Tamilarasan, Santhosh Kumar gained his first international experience at the 2015 World Youth Championships in Cali , where he was disqualified over 110 meter hurdles in the preliminary run and also over 400 meter hurdles with 54.92 s did not reach the semifinals. In the following year he reached the semi-finals at the U20 World Championships in Bydgoszcz and finished seventh in the Indian 4 x 400 meter relay in 3: 09.14 minutes. In 2017 he finished sixth in 50.95 s at the Asian Championships in his native Bhubaneswar and fifth in 49.66 s at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta . The following year, he came seventh in the hurdles at the Military World Games in Wuhan in 52.53 seconds and just missed a medal in fourth in the relay in 3: 06.81 minutes. At the beginning of December he won the bronze medal behind Pakistani Mehboob Ali and his compatriot Jabir Madari Pillyalil at the South Asian Games in Kathmandu in 51.98 s and also won the silver medal behind Sri Lanka with the relay.
