action
The film tells of a newly married couple, Sappho and Phil, who want to spend their honeymoon on the island of Lesbos in Greece , and Helena, the daughter of the Russian archaeologist Orlov. This film tells the story of the Greek poet Sappho in a modern version .
production
Sappho was shot in 2007 in Yalta on the Crimean peninsula on the Black Sea coast. Little known actors were intentionally hired to make the very provocative flick less conspicuous. In the German DVD evaluation, the film received the title Sommerliebe with the original title as a subtitle.
Soundtrack
The music for the film comes from Maro Theodorakis and the well-known Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis .
