Sara Alexandrovna Levina
Sara Alexandrovna Lewina ( Russian Зара Александровна Левина * January 23 . Jul / 5. February 1906 greg. In Simferopol , Crimea , Russian Empire ; † 27. June 1976 in Moscow , Soviet Union ) was a Russian-Soviet composer and pianist .
She studied piano in Odessa , continued her studies at the Moscow Conservatory with Felix Blumenfeld and studied composition with Nikolai Mjaskowski and Reinhold Glière .
She composed two piano concertos , chamber music and numerous songs . She is the grandmother of the Russian pianist Alexander Melnikov .
