Sara Gallardo

Sara Gallardo , actually Sara Gallardo Drago Miter (* 1931 in Buenos Aires ; † June 14, 1988 ibid) was an Argentine writer and is considered an important representative of magical realism .

Life

Gallardo came from a wealthy, long-established family in Argentina; she was the daughter of the historian Guillermo Gallardo and granddaughter of the politician Ángel Gallardo . She saw herself on the fringes of the bourgeoisie and thus became a very critical observer of it.

Gallardo was married to the writer Luis Pico Estrada in his first marriage . She outlived her second husband, the writer Héctor Murena , by 13 years.

Gallardo made her debut as a writer in 1958 with her novel Enero . In total she published five novels, which z. Partly led to controversial discussions among the audience as well as with the official criticism.

In addition to these novels, Gallardo wrote regular columns in magazines ( Panorama , Primera Plana and others) and newspapers ( La Nación and others).
