Sara Mitich

Sara Mitich (* in Hamilton , Ontario ) is a Canadian film actress .

Life

Mitich was born in Hamilton, Ontario to Serbian immigrants. At the age of nine she began ballet training at the National Ballet School of Canada in Toronto . A sudden growth spurt prevented a further career path here. Mitich then began an acting training in a joint program at the University of Toronto and Sheridan College . From 2010 she first appeared in several short films and from 2013 also in several cinema and television films . She played her first recurring supporting role in the crime series Murdoch Mysteries from 2014 to 2015, followed by another from 2015 to 2016 in the science fiction television series The Expanse . From 2016, major roles in cinema and television productions followed. She received multiple nominations and awards for her portrayal in the 2017 drama Ashes . Mitich has played in the science fiction television series Star Trek: Discovery since 2017 , where she played two different roles (in season 1 the cyborg Airiam and in season 2 Lieutenant Nilsson).

Mitich also works as an acting teacher at Armstrong Acting Studios in Toronto.
