Sarema Sadulayeva

Sarema Sadulajewa ( Russian Зарема Садулаева ) (* 1974 , † August 11, 2009 in Chechnya ) was the head of an aid organization in the former war zone Chechnya ( Russia ).

She was found shot dead in the trunk of her car with her husband Alik (Umar) Jabrailov on August 11, 2009 in Chernorechye , a suburb of the Chechen capital Grozny . The day before they had been kidnapped from their office in Grozny by five unknown men. The kidnappers, posing as security guards, returned to the office to take Sadulayeva's cell phone and her car.

Sadulajewa headed the non-governmental organization “Save the Next Generation” ( Russian Спасём поколение / Spassjom pokolenije), which has been offering psychological and medical help to children and young people in the former war zone since 2001. Jabrailov was an employee of the organization. Its then head, Murad Muradow, was kidnapped and murdered back in 2005. Sadulayeva was not politically active. Jabrailov, whom she recently married, had previously served a four-year prison sentence for alleged links with armed separatist groups.
