Sarry Karryev

Sarry Karryjew ( Russian Сарры Каррыев * 19th January 1906 in Kotsch, Russian Empire ; † 1986 in Ashgabat , Turkmen SSR , Soviet Union ) was a Soviet film - actor .

Life

Sarry Karryev was born in the village of Kotsch in the Turkmen district of Kisyl-Arwat . His mother died in childbirth so he was raised by his aunt. The childhood of the future actor was marked by poverty, so Karryjew could not finish school because he worked at night in a railway workshop and therefore often missed classes.

In 1940 he made his debut in Dursun ( Dursun ) . After his second film, Прокурор ( Prokuror , 1941), Karryev, who was also a veteran of the Russian Civil War , volunteered for the front . As a result of a leg injury sustained in the Battle of Stalingrad , he returned to Ashgabat on January 26, 1943 and was able to continue his film career after the end of the war. In The Far Bride (1948) Karryjew had his first appearance in a film that was shown internationally. Seven years later he was in Хитрость старого Ашира ( Chitrost starogo Aschira ) for the only time a leading role . To his other work included a small supporting role in the social drama Случай в Даш-Кале ( Slutschai w Dasch-Kale , 1963), was involved in the screenplay writer Moris Davidovich Simaschko, and the two-part revolutionary film Решающий шаг ( Reschajuschtschi thay , 1965 ). After the director Boris Ryzarew became aware of Karryev, he engaged him to play the Djinn in Aladdin's magic lamp . This was also the only major role of the bald actor in a film that was also released outside the Soviet Union. Valentin Brylejew , his film partner in the fairy tale adaptation , dubbed Karryjew in the Russian version of the comedy Meniň Dostum Meleguş (Russian: Мой друг Мелекуш, Moi drug Melekusch , 1972), in which the breeding of Akhal-Teke is discussed. Karryev played his last roles in the television film Люди моего аула ( Ljudi mojego aula , 1983) and in Джигит всегда джигит ( Dschigit wsegda dschigit , 1985). He has appeared in over 20 films, mostly for the Turkmenfilm studio .

Karryev was married for many years, his wife Shekir brought four children from their first marriage into the relationship. He died in Ashgabat in the spring of 1986.

Honors

Karryev was awarded the title of Honored Artist of the Turkmen SSR . For his services in the German-Soviet War he was awarded the Order of the Great Patriotic War, 1st class on April 6, 1985 .
