Sascha Gross

Sascha Gross (born July 1, 1968 in Munich ) is a German stage and costume designer .

His training initially led him to the theater via photography. In 1989 he began working as an assistant with Jürgen Rose at the Münchner Kammerspiele . In 1992 he accompanied him as an assistant to the Royal Stockholm Opera and the New York Met . In 1993 he created his first own work as a stage and costume designer, supported by Dieter Dorn at the Münchner Kammerspiele.

Since 1996 he has accepted teaching assignments at the Munich University of Applied Sciences , the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin and the Hamburg University of Fine Arts . He has been teaching at the Folkwang University of the Arts since 2010.

In 1996 he was awarded the promotion prize for young artists, special stage design prize from the Bavarian State Ministry. The most important directorial encounters brought him together with Dieter Dorn, Peter Wittenberg, Armin Petras, Roland Schimmelpfennig, Lisa Nielebock and Robert Schuster.

Gross was active with works at the Münchner Kammerspiele , the Schauspielhaus Zurich , the Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin, the Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz , the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus , the Schauspiel Frankfurt , the Deutsches Theater Berlin , the Bayerisches Staatsschauspiel , the Theater Bremen and other theaters .
