Saser Kangri I (also Saser Kangri or Sasir Kangri ) is a mountain in the Karakoram in the north of India in Saser Muztagh , the southeastern mountains of Karakorum.

Saser Kangri I

The mountain range in which the mountains Saser Kangri I, Saser Kangri II and Saser Kangri III rise is also known as Saser Kangri or Sasir Kangri . The Saser Kangri I has a height of 7672  m . It is the highest mountain in Saser Muztagh and the 35th highest mountain on earth. The Northern Shukpa-Kunchang Glacier flows on its eastern flank .

Saser Kangri IV

The secondary peak Saser Kangri IV ( Neben ), 1.64 km west-northwest, has a height of 7415  m and a notch height of 255 m.

Plateau Peak

Another secondary peak is the 7,287  m (according to other information 7,310  m ) high Plateau Peak ( ). It is located 3.03 km south-southwest of the Saser Kangri. The saddle in between is at an altitude of 7060  m .

Ascent history

The Saser Kangri I was first climbed on June 5, 1973 by an Indian-Tibetan border police team.

The Saser Kangri IV was first climbed by an Indo-British expedition on June 6, 1987.

The first ascent of Plateau Peak was achieved by an Indian expedition (Debraj Datta, Subrate De, Pradeep Ch Sahoo, Prasanta Gorai, Dawa Sherpa, Lakpa Norbu Sherpa, Lakpa Tenzing Sherpa, Mingma Sherpa, Phurba Sherpa) over the west ridge on July 31, 2013.
