Saskia Hula
Saskia Maria Magdalena Hula (born October 3, 1966 in Vienna ) is an Austrian children's book author .
Life
She completed an apprenticeship as a special school teacher , then taught for several years at the Vienna Heilstättenschule before moving to a multicultural elementary school in Vienna in 2000. She has two children and lives alternately in Burgenland and Vienna.
Her first book, Romeo and Juliane, was published in 2004. Several of her books were illustrated by her sister Tizia Hula. Some books have been translated into Korean, Chinese, Danish and Dutch.
Awards
- 2010: Mira-Lobe scholarship from the Austrian Federal Ministry for Education, Art and Culture.
- 2010: Toad of the month March for Bei 3 auf den Baum (with illustrator Ulrike Möltgen)
- 2011: Inclusion of her picture book With three on the trees in the list of honor for the Austrian Children's and Youth Book Prize 2011.
- 2013: Austrian Children's and Young People's Book Prize 2012 for the best gang in the world .
- 2016: Her book Hyenas are never late in the list of honor for the Austrian Children's and Young People's Book Prize 2016.
- 2017: Inclusion of her books The 7 Lives of My Cat and A Memorial for Ms. Hasenohr in the list of honor for the Austrian Children's and Youth Book Prize 2017.
- 2017: Prize of the youth jury as part of the Austrian children's and youth book prize for a memorial for Mrs. Hasenohr .
