Verena Hochleitner (2019)

Verena Hochleitner (* 1969 in Vienna ) is an Austrian graphic designer and picture book illustrator and author .

Life

Verena Hochleitner studied graphic design with Tino Erben at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna. Since 2009 she has focused on illustrating and writing books and, more recently, on moving her characters ( stop-motion animation films).

• In 2012 Verena Hochleitner received the Outstanding Artist Award for children's and youth literature.
• The cook in love was awarded the Children's and Young People's Literature Prize of the State of Styria in 2014.
• 2015: Toad of the month November for Das Gänseblümchen, the Katzen & der Zaun with Thomas Rosenlöcher
• 2016: Austrian children's and young people's book award for their picture book Der verliebte Koch .
• 2020: The three robbers are included in the “2020 Collection” of the Austrian Children's and Young People's Book Prize
• 2020: Nomination for the Korbinian - Paul Maar Prize for The Three Robbers
