Saskia Leppin (born July 11, 1985 in Hamburg ) is a German singer and musical performer. Her focus is on pop hits.

Career

After completing secondary school at the Hansa-Gymnasium Bergedorf , Saskia Leppin completed a three-year training course in “dance, singing and acting” at the Stage School in Hamburg, which she completed in 2006.

In November 2005 she appeared in her first theater role at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in the play The Little Mermaid based on a fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen. From 2007 to 2009 she was seen in changing roles in the musical Elisabeth - The Legend of a Saint . The world premiere took place on the occasion of the Elisabeth Year 2007 in the Landestheater Eisenach. In December 2007 an engagement took place in the travesty musical La Cage aux Folles - A cage full of fools in today's Metropol Theater Bremen . From 2008 to 2013 she worked as a soloist on AIDA cruises. In 2013 she took part in the ensemble at the FRITZ Theater in Bremen. She was a singer in hit revues such as “Ein Bett im Kornfeld” or “Zwei Orfelsinen im Haar” by the director Ole Lehmann and an actress in the musical “Freak Out!”.

Musical career

In November 2013 Saskia Leppin released her first single "Lieb mich heute 'Nacht". This was followed by further single releases from the field of pop hits. The daily Hamburger Abendblatt praised her talent in December 2014 and described Leppin as "the new Helene Fischer from Bergedorf".

In October 2015, the singer sparked controversy when she published the song “Fire and Flame” on her YouTube channel to support the application to host the 2024 Summer Olympics in Hamburg. "Fire and Flame" was created independently and not the official song for the Olympic application, explained Leppin. The song found support from the Hamburger Sportbund. In the network and in some media, however, the style of the song was criticized.

In October 2016 Leppin's first album “Alles auf Anfang” was released. There was also a cover version of the duet "If you think, you think" by Gunter Gabriel . The German country singer contributed the male voice on the new recording.

In 2019 the singer released two more singles. The song "Liebeslieder" gained greater fame through an appearance on the music and entertainment show "Immer wieder Sundays" with Stefan Mross . The radio editors of SWR4 certified the second track “With a smile” as being a summer song.
