Saskia Santer

Saskia Santer (born December 5, 1977 in Innichen ) is a former Italian biathlete .

Saskia Santer is the sister of the biathlete Nathalie Santer and the cross-country skier Stephanie Santer . She made her debut in the World Cup in 2000 in an individual in Hochfilzen (70th place). Your best placement in an individual race was 12th in the World Cup sprint in Khanty-Mansiysk . Santer celebrated her bigger successes with the Italian relay. With her she achieved her best World Cup result in 2003 in Kontiolahti at the side of Michela Ponza , Maryke Ciaramidaro and her sister.

Santer took part in two Olympic Games ( 2002 in Salt Lake City and 2006 in Turin ), but without achieving significant results. Between 2001 and 2006 she started at the World Championships. 2003 in Khanty-Mansiysk she finished 14th place in the individual, 2001 in Pokljuka the 8th place with the relay.

After the 2005/2006 season, she ended her active career and began training as a physiotherapist in Amsterdam . At the home World Cup in Antholz, she stepped into the breach for her mother's home country and competed in the mixed relay World Cup race with her sister Nathalie and two Belgians without prior training for Belgium.

After many years of experience as a physiotherapist for the Swedish national biathlon team, she opened her own sports physiotherapy practice in Oberau .
