action

Hong Kong in the present. The highly decorated policewoman Jade Leung, whose husband was brutally murdered on her wedding night, is sent by her superior to Singapore to investigate an illegal gathering of international underworld greats despite her suicidal tendencies . According to information from the FBI , a major arms deal is to take place in the village, in which the American mafia boss and arms dealer Fowler is also said to be involved.

Once there, the widowed Leung is greeted by her local colleague, Inspector Ellen Cheng, who is somehow exposed to strange approaches from her future husband. Although the two women are strangers at first, the investigators form a harmonious and powerful duo as the story progresses. They are quickly on the heels of the arms dealer and his followers. However, her target initially succeeds in evading arrest, thanks to a dedicated and windy lawyer: Ken Chan. At this point in time, Fowler's legal representation was insufficiently informed about his client's business, even though they were viewed extremely critically. It was only when Leung familiarized young Chan with facts that weighed heavily on Fowler that the lawyer had doubts. At the same time, Jade and Ken fall in love.

A little later, Chan hands his secret lover a data carrier with sensitive information about Fowler. Meanwhile, the arms dealer sees through the intentions of his young lawyer. Fights follow. The disloyal Chan is fatally injured. Leung, now deprived of her loved one, sabotages Fowler's further arms deals with all determination. She receives support from Cheng, who proves to be reliable and defensive. At the end of the film, the charismatic Leung overwhelms Fowler in his helicopter. This falls during a flight into the depth.

Reviews

The lexicon of international films wrote the action film with two "slightly apron leading actresses" and carries over the "myth of battle-hardened Amazons into the present day."
