The Sattelsberg is a 464.1 m high, wooded elevation and is located on the southern edge of the community of Unterbreizbach in the Wartburg district in Thuringia .

In terms of nature, the Sattelsberg is part of the Vorder Rhön . The Sattelsberg forms the southern watershed between the catchment areas of the Ulster and Oechse rivers (with the Sünna tributary on the left ). On its slopes there are arable terraces and pastures of Mosa and Deicheroda and Mieswarz that have been preserved from medieval times .

A forest on the northeast edge has pits up to 4 m deep, which have been placed under protection as a ground monument . These pits were built in the Middle Ages as surface mining pits for the extraction of iron ore. Another such concentration of pits is located on the neighboring Arzberg.
