Saturday Looks Good to Me is an American indie - band from Ann Arbor , Michigan . Her style is a mix of twee / chamber / and indie pop .
Band history
Saturday Looks Good to Me was founded in 2000 by Fred Thomas (ex- Flashpapr / Lovesick ). At first he recorded nine songs on his own, which he had pressed on vinyl in 2000. Saturday Looks Good to Me wasn't his only project at the time; he was also releasing music with Cruel August Moon. Saturday Looks Good to Me was based on his interest in Motown and 60s pop, on the first releases the music was essentially based on Brian Wilson and Phil Spector with subtle indie rock overtones. The first album, re-released on CD in 2002, caught the attention of emoband Saves the Day , who made an offer to take Saturday Looks Good to Me on tour.
So Fred Thomas had to gather a band around him. The band then toured the United States with Saves the Day and signed with the independent label Polyvinyl Records . The album All Your Summer Songs was released there in 2003 , followed closely by Every Night in the same year.
In 2006 came the compilation Sound on Sound , a summary of the numerous EPs and CD-Rs.
Fill Up the Room followed in 2007 , after which Thomas concentrated on his other bands City Center and Swimsuit and worked as a producer for various independent bands. Saturday Looks Good to Me were subsequently disbanded.
In 2012 the single Sunglasses was released with a newly formed band and the album One Kiss Ends It All .
