Sauchen is a town in the Scottish council area of Aberdeenshire . It is located about eight miles southwest of Inverurie and 15 miles west of central Aberdeen .

history

East of Sauchen reflects a Cairn from stone- or Bronze Age settlement in the area. To the northeast there is also a stone circle with a standing stone on the outside .

Close to the stone circle is Castle Fraser , which was probably built in the 1570s . The Frasers mausoleum is in the Old Cluny Cemetery . Cluny Castle goes back to a tower house that was probably built around 1604 . This makes it around 50 years younger than the nearby Tillycairn Castle . Southeast was 1835 mansion Linton House built. Presumably the Scottish architect Archibald Simpson designed the building.
