Saurach

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Saurach is a part of the Crailsheim district of Triensbach in the district of Schwäbisch Hall , Baden-Württemberg .

The place was first mentioned in 1357 as Surheim. Around 1600 it was renamed to Saurhof (probably derived from acid soil).

In 1357 the place was part of the Hohenlohe office of Lobenhausen. Crailsheim acquired the village from Erkenbrechtshausen around 1600. In 1732 there were two Seckendorff farms on the Erkenbrechtshausen manor. The jurisdiction was ceded to Ansbach by Hohenlohe in 1732 and therefore became Prussian sovereignty in 1797.

The village is located about 8 km west of Crailsheim on state road 1012 and district road 2500 in an agricultural area. In the north of the village, which consists of only a few houses, runs the Sauerbach, which flows into the Schmerach after a few hundred meters .

The village is connected to local public transport by bus line 66 operated by Stadtbus Crailsheim .
