history

The Hardt (colloquially Hoard ) is a former hunting and fishing area, in whose valleys there were numerous fish ponds. Alexandersreut was designed on the drawing board based on the Prussian model, and from 1789 onwards, stones from the former Pfannenburg were used, which stood on a spur of the Pfannenberg. The planning of the place can still be recognized today by the straight street layout in which two streets intersect at right angles. Alexandersreut was named in honor of the last Margrave Alexander of Brandenburg-Ansbach .
