Savage Circus is a power metal band founded by Thomen Stauch .
history
Stauch, former Blind Guardian drummer , founded Savage Circus in 2004 with the intention of stylistically building on the older Blind Guardian albums Tales from the Twilight World and Imaginations from the Other Side . The focus was on the genres of power and speed metal . Other founding members were Emil Norberg and Jens Carlsson from Persuader , and Piet Sielck from Iron Savior . The band's first public appearance was an autograph session at the Rock-Hard Festival in Gelsenkirchen , combined with audio samples of four songs.
In August 2007, the band announced that they would continue to work without upsetting in the future, as his poor health would stand in the way of progression. In September Mike Terrana was announced as the new drummer, who was and is already active in many bands (including Rage , Axel Rudi Pell , Masterplan ). In addition, the previous live bassist Yenz Leonhardt has been accepted as a permanent member of the band, who also plays for Iron Savior together with Piet Sielck.
In December 2011, Sielck resigned. As a justification, he stated that he did not want to shoulder the songwriting and production of a new album a third time and instead concentrate on Iron Savior in the future.
In February 2014, Norberg announced that he and Carlsson would be leaving Savage Circus due to lack of time to focus on Persuader.
