The Sawai Mansingh Stadium is a cricket stadium in Jaipur , India .

Capacity & Infrastructure

The stadium has a capacity of 30,000 and is equipped with floodlights. The two wicket ends are the Van Vihar Colony End and the Garh Ganesh Temple End .

International cricket

The first One-Day International was held in this stadium in October 1983 between India and Pakistan and was mainly used for ODIs afterwards. The only test so far was also carried out between the two teams on the 1986/87 tour . At the Cricket World Cup 1987 and the Cricket World Cup 1996 a preliminary round match was played here. Six preliminary round matches and one semi-final of the 2006 ICC Champions Trophy were also played here.

National cricket

The stadium is the home ground of Rajasthan in Indian national cricket. In the Indian Premier League , it serves as the home of the Rajasthan Royals . In 2016, due to the drought in Maharashtra, the Mumbai Indians games were relocated to Jaipur.
