The Scaniarinken is a multi-purpose hall in the Swedish city of Södertälje , Stockholm County . From 2005 to 2016 the hall was named AXA Sports Center . The hall is u. a. The venue for the home games of the Södertälje SK ice hockey club .
history
In 1970 the municipality of Södertälje had the Scaniarinken built, which then had 11,000 seats. The event hall served as a venue for local sports clubs. In 2005 the Scaniarinken was bought and renovated by the Södertälje SK ice hockey club , currently part of the second-class HockeyAllsvenskan . The arena was then named AXA Sports Center . In autumn 2014 the municipality bought back the hall from Södertälje SK for 85 million Skr . Although the Scaniarinken is mainly used for ice hockey games, the Södertälje BBK's Södertälje Kings (men) and Telge Basket (women) basketball clubs and the Balrog Botkyrka IK floorball team also play their home games in the hall if required .
