The municipality of Södertälje [ søːdəʈɛljə ] ( Swedish Södertälje kommun ) is a southwest of the capital Stockholm in the province of Stockholm County located municipality in Sweden . The main town of the municipality is the city of Södertälje . Localities in the municipality are (from north to south) Enhörna, Järna, Vårdinge and Hölö / Mörkö.

The largest ethnic group with a foreign background are around 22,000 Syrians (also known as Aramaeans , Assyrians or Chaldeans ) from Turkey , Syria , Iraq and Lebanon . Most of them belong to the Syrian Orthodox Church . The second largest group with 8,000 people are Finns and Finland-Swedes . The third largest group consists of around 1,000 Germans . Other nationalities represented are Chileans , Yugoslavs (around 800 people each) and Norwegians (500), as well as around 4,000 people of other origins.
