The Scarlatti Peak is a 750 m high mountain in the center of Alexander Island off the west coast of the Antarctic Peninsula . It rises eight miles northwest of Holst Peak and 12 miles east of the Walton Mountains .
The British geographer Derek Searle of the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey mapped it in 1960 using aerial photographs taken by the American Ronne Antarctic Research Expedition . The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 1961 after the Italian composer Alessandro Scarlatti (1660-1725).
