The Scend Rocks are a small group of cliff rocks in the Palmer Archipelago off the west coast of the Antarctic Peninsula . They are 2.5 km southwest of Rumbler Rock and 4 km west-northwest of the Outcast Islands off the southwest coast of Anvers Island .
A Royal Navy hydrographic unit surveyed the rocks between 1956 and 1957. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named them in 1958. Scend is an English-language term from seafaring for the breaking of waves on a shoal when there is a corresponding swell .
