Schönau is a district of the municipality of Uder in the Eichsfeld district in Thuringia .

location

Schönau is located in the Leinetal about two kilometers northwest of Uder and six kilometers west of the district town of Heilbad Heiligenstadt . Coming from the north, the Schwobach flows into the Leine, which forms a small floodplain there.

In terms of traffic, Schönau is located at the intersection of Landesstraße 2005 with Landesstraße 3080 , and immediately north of the Halle-Kassel railway line .

history

On March 30, 1318, the place was first mentioned as "Schonawe". In the 1990s, an industrial park for the municipality of Uder was established in the Leineaue. In 2009 there were 72 people living in the village. Closely connected to the small town of Schönau is the “Zum Lahmen Frosch” inn on the former Chaussee, which was torn down after 1970 and rebuilt.
