The shooting club Wiesloch 1901 is a registered shooting club from Wiesloch (Baden-Württemberg). The club was founded in 1901, operates shooting sports and is dedicated to legal gun ownership .

history

The citizens of the city of Wiesloch practiced shooting in front of the city walls, as can be seen on an old engraving by Merian around 1600. The shooting society was founded on May 2nd, 1901. Robert Burckhardt, Rudolf Bühler, Heinrich Fuhrer, Karl Hummel, Pressler, Noe and Johann Stang, as well as Emil Holfelder are named as founders . The first founding meeting was held with 14 members. The first rifle house was built on the site of what is now the North Baden Psychiatric Center . In 1905, after the creation of the PZN, the Schützengesellschaft Wiesloch acquired a new piece of land in Gewann Haagen in 1901 and has been based there ever since.

Founding members of the Wiesloch shooting club

In 1909 Friedrich Geiger took over the chairmanship. Geiger held his office until 1932 and also administered it beyond the First World War, during which time the club was largely idle. In 1939 Karl Becker took over the management of the Wiesloch shooting club. At the end of the Second World War, the association's inventory such as the rifle chain , membership lists and club weapons were either destroyed or confiscated by the occupying powers.

In 1950 the active club activity could be resumed. In 1954, the shooting company had 20 air rifle stands and eight small caliber stands. With the purchase of two neighboring properties in 1968, the company's own premises were expanded to include a rifle house with an adjacent pistol stand.
