The Schafberg , in Rhaeto-Romanic Munt da la Bês-cha (pronounced behsch-tja ), is a mountain north of Pontresina in the Engadine .
The viewpoint is 2647 m high. Above it, on the ridge rising to the peaks of Las Sours and Piz Muragl ( Oberer Schafberg ), stands the Segantinihütte (2731 m), where the painter Giovanni Segantini died in 1899 .
The Schafberg can be reached in about one to one and a half hours, especially on the following hiking trails:
- on the hiking trail from the Muottas Muragl panoramic mountain
- on the Steinbockweg from Alp Languard .
