The Schasche cycle car is a racing car .

Manufacturer

Alois Schasche was the importer of the Belgian motorcycle company Saroléa for Austria in the 1920s . The location information Möllwaldplatz 5, Favoritenstraße 30 and the 4th district of Vienna can be found on an advertising poster . He offered automobiles , motorcycles , bicycles , pneumatics and all accessories . In 1929 he presented a cycle car at the Vienna spring fair . Officially registered driving tests to break the existing world record (108 km / h) in the cycle car class with a displacement of up to 500 cm³ should be undertaken with the vehicle in the course of spring. The vehicle is a single-seat racing car. It is powered by a single-cylinder engine from Saroléa with a displacement of 500 cm³ , which is mounted on the side outside the frame and drives the left rear wheel. The power is transmitted by means of a chain. The Saroléa racing engine 23 U presented in 1928 was used . It made about 25 hp.

Schasche used the vehicle in races in Austria. A photo shows it together with the Karner Cyclecar , which Anton Rupert Karner manufactured in 1929, on the Viennese trotting arena. The vehicle still exists today.
