short film by the director Sebastian Stop and Sascha Kummer , shot in 2005 in Germany. The film was produced by the 3/20 Filmkunstkollektiv (read: three twenty ), a group of media studies students from Leipzig University .
Shadow play is aaction
David Schildt and Cornelia Letz are librarians in the Leipzig University Library . Both don't like each other very well, but they still have to work overtime in the library in the evening .
When they finally want to leave after their work is done, the exits are locked and can no longer be opened with their keys. The phones are dead. David and Cornelia notice that something else besides them is up to mischief in the nightly library.
Emergence
The 3/20 film art collective was formed in February 2003 as a result of participants in a project seminar at the Institute for Communication and Media Studies at the University of Leipzig . The aim of the seminar was the conception and realization of a fictional short film.
After a conception phase of more than one and a half years, the film was finally shot in January 2005 on a total of six days. The setting and location of the action was exclusively the historical main building of the Leipzig University Library, the so-called Albertina .
Because of the limited financial resources, the film was recorded on DV , i.e. on video . Overall, the budget was only around € 1200.
reception
The finished film premiered on April 23, 2005 as part of the Leipzig Museum Night in the Albertina. Since then, the film has been shown at several German short film festivals . In January 2006 the film with bonus material about the making was also released regularly on DVD .
