The Schauinsland is a 450  m high mountain on the Fallières coast in the west of Graham Land on the Antarctic Peninsula . It is the westernmost elevation of the Butson Ridge and looms between the McClary Glacier in the north and the Northeast Glacier in the south. Due to its exposed location, it offers a good overview of the adjacent glaciers and Marguerite Bay .

Scientists from the University of Freiburg carried out surveying and research work in this area in the 1990s . In this context, the Schauinsland was named after the mountain of the same name near Freiburg. In addition, a refuge was built in the summit area in 1995.
